Brad Brush (MS, ATC, CSCS) is in his second season as the Miners' athletic trainer, provided by Southern Illinois Healthcare. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer by the Natrional Athletic Trainer's Association (1987) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Assocition (2006).
Brush has been employed by SIH since May, 1994 as a certified athletic trainer for Rehab Unlimited and Sportsology for area high schools as well as John A. Logan College athletics. He has worked with recently-retired John A. Logan head coach Jerry Halstead to assist with the development of the Volunteer sports medecine and strength and conditioning programs.
Brad graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1987, and after receiving his master's degree from the University of Tulsa in 1989 came back to Carbondale also worked as an assistant athletic trainer at SIU from 1989-93. He was the Saluki baseball student trainer while he was an undergraduate, and worked with the legendary coach Richard "Itch" Jones for five years.
Originally from Murphysboro, Ilinois, Brad now resides in Anna, Illinois with children Katelynn and Jacob.
